Process to Apply - Purcell Collegiate School

PROCESS TO APPLY

Step One:  Submit your Online Application

We want to get to know you and our online application process is designed to be easy to use and yet provide us with information to get to know you better. We individually review every application that is submitted. Be prepared to spend approximately 30 minutes to complete the online application process. Parents should be prepared to sit with their child during this process as there are sections for parent consent as well as student consent.

Please include as much information as possible to assist us in reviewing your application. Documents to have ready before you begin include a scanned copy or picture of your valid passport, birth certificate, some personal photos of you and your family, school transcripts and the ability to pay for the application fee online through our financial provider. Canadian citizens living permanently in Canada must still submit an application but can do so as a day student or dorm student.

Step Two: Preparing for Submitting Supporting Documents

During the application process, it will ask for you to submit:

  • school transcripts,
  • a personal letter of recommendation (completed by a coach, tutor, family friend, tutor – but NOT a relative),
  • a scanned copy or picture of your birth certificate, with translation into English provided,
  • a scanned copy or picture of your passport,
  • funds for the non-refundable application fee.

Step Three: Prepare for Your Interview

All students applying participate in a video conference personal interview with a member of our staff. During this interview we will spend time speaking with you and asking you a few questions about yourself and why you want to study at Purcell Collegiate School. This interview is approximately 20 to 30 minutes long and will be arranged at time that is suitable for both you and our staff member while respecting various time zone differences.

Step: Four: Prepare for Your English Language Learner Assessment (International Students)

Students who have completed an SSAT can provide their SSAT scores and information to us for consideration and review. The SSAT is a multiple-choice aptitude test for students which can be completed prior to applying. However, students who have not completed an SSAT can also be assessed by our staff through an arranged process to complete a general aptitude and language assessment.

At Purcell Collegiate School we are eager to accept students who choose to be here. We are an inclusive learning environment that embrace students who value learning, challenges and desire to grow. Our admissions process typically includes an interview with students using a video conference tool.

We aspire to make the admissions process welcoming and easy to understand. We are happy to assist with any questions you have so please contact us at any time.
