EXTRA-CURRICULAR ADVANTAGE
Throughout the school year, students are encouraged, supported, and rewarded for participating in a wide-variety of extra-curricular opportunities including activities, events, and trips that are part of the Uprep@pcs suite of programs, exclusive to Purcell Collegiate School.
The extra-curricular opportunities PCS offers are diverse and provide amazing opportunities for students to experience culture, art, music, athletics, business, and more, providing our students with the chance to build skills, identify their passions and become leaders within the school and the broader community.

CLUBS AND SPORTS
At Purcell Collegiate School we take education beyond the classroom by offering clubs and sports that will prepare students to meet their academic and personal potential.

These opportunities provide our students with the ability to build skills, identify their passions and become leaders within the school and larger community setting. Students are able to take part in club activities that support their growth and enable them to become global thinkers and communicators.
Whether it is skiing for the first time, hiking the beautiful nature trails surrounding the property, or engaging with members of the ?aq’am community to learn more about Indigenous traditions, we believe there is something for every student at PCS.
Combined with building friendships and learning more about Canada, our roster of extra-curricular clubs and sports provide an amazing opportunity for students to connect with others.
ACTIVITY, EVENTS, AND TRIPS
Regularly throughout each month at Purcell Collegiate School, students are involved in a variety of planned activities held in the local area as well as further distances away at times.
These activities are part of the cultural and recreational experiences provided to all students and are based on a rotating activity calendar.
Activities can also be linked to seasonal or holiday events as well as opportunities to explore Canada further.
These experiences are included in the tuition fees while some experiences have additional costs during the Christmas or Spring Break period.
Examples of these activities include trips to the hot springs, skiing, snowboarding, dogsledding, hockey games, movie nights, golf, outdoor pursuits and more!
It provides a great way for students to connect with other students while exploring all that Canadian life has to offer!

SERVICE
Our students learn to exemplify service each day through their lives and actions at Purcell Collegiate School.
This can be through participating in school chores, volunteering at the campus, tutoring and supporting younger students or working as a volunteer within our local community.
Through these experiences our students recognize and learn the importance of giving their time, energy and resources to support those around them.
Our staff provide students with an overview of the many service opportunities available to them and assist them in selections that grow their passions and leadership skills as well as exposing them to Canadian culture.

FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS
As part of our school program, students at Purcell Collegiate School are offered opportunities to further expand their exposure to music, drama and visual arts both in and out of the classroom.
Students receive the opportunity to engage and explore opportunities in Fine and Performing Arts with the supervision and support of PCS staff via community activities, events, and clubs.
Examples may include concerts or theatrical productions which the students may want to attend or participate in.
TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION
Purcell Collegiate School (PCS) students are party to the only on-reserve living experience available to international students. To take advantage of this special opportunity, PCS has created a program to maximize our boarding campus location and our relationship with our hosts, the ʔaq’am Community.
