Custodianship
Purcell Collegiate School is a private, independent, co-educational boarding school located in British Columbia, Canada. Our prospective Grade 7-12 students are interested in learning together in a unique setting while receiving university preparation all while experiencing spectacular mountain views and activities.
Our progressive learning environment provides a world-class education experience encouraging students to make lifelong friendships all while becoming engaged global citizens. At Purcell Collegiate we believe that every student has powerful potential. We provide students with a blend of strong academics and real-life experiences with individual attention and small class sizes in a caring environment.
Using a pioneering engagement model that is unique to the education sector, Purcell Collegiate is an opportunity for international students to live and learn in Canada at a school focused on sustainability, guided by the First People’s Principles of Learning, and dedicated to fostering self-awareness, personal resolve and leadership.
Each international student at Purcell Collegiate School is required to have an assigned Custodian who ensures the student receives care and support when needed, including in times of emergency. As required by Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Custodian needs to be an adult and Canadian citizen. All Purcell Collegiate School students are assigned a Custodian that is associated with our school for this purpose. The Custodian is part of the application and registration process as a notarized Custodianship Declaration must accompany the minor’s study permit application.
