At the event, Purcell Collegiate reaffirmed its commitment to changing the way education is offered and engaged in British Columbia and highlighted a broad spectrum of innovative school attributes and programming inputs to attendees. Of particular note was PCI’s landmark partnership with the ʔaq̓am Community which distinguishes the school as a social impact incubator and economic development generator in support of the Truth and Reconciliation process. The learning and exchange opportunities afforded to PCS students who will be living and learning on reserve at historic St. Eugene Mission were referenced as an example of the partnership’s exceptional potential in that regard, particularly as facilitated by First Person which is part of the u.prep@pcs suite of extra-curricular programs.
