Students at Purcell Collegiate School are taking the lead in support of making and exploring community connections while learning about and obtaining experience in communications and marketing.  Student leaders Alma Ameigeiras (Argentina) and Kennah Brant (Prince Edward Island) spent the week leading up to a Purcell Hockey Academy (PHA) home showcase visiting elementary schools and a senior’s community with their classmates/teammates to draw attending the hockey games scheduled for the weekend while making presentations to and connections with the students and seniors.  They then capped off a busy week with a trip to the studios of 107.5 2day FM to visit with morning-show host Dennis Walker to talk about the upcoming games and the ongoing focus Purcell places on engaging with the community and service-learning for its students.

The results were on full display at PHA’s Friday night game which featured a significant number of young families in attendance to go along with several seniors who took advantage of Purcell Collegiate’s free shuttle bus to attend the game.
